“Like our software, AURES equipment is quick and easy to deploy and it creates very low on-going maintenance demands, which are nevertheless backed up by a three-year manufacturer’s warranty. We always get great service from AURES, whether it’s delivering hardware on time or responding to maintenance tickets.”

The cry from the member’s enclosure as the riders and horses enter the final furlong of The Grand National at Aintree. Fans belting out ‘Swing Lo, Sweet Chariot’ at the home of English rugby, Twickenham. The murmur of anticipation that ripples around Lord’s on the first morning of the summer Test. The roar of the engines as classic motor vehicles from across the ages press for home at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

All great, iconic British sporting occasions, all events where demand to be there and be part of the action is sky high. Behind the scenes, a great deal of planning and hard work goes into meeting the needs of these expectant crowds by delivering exemplary standards of hospitality and service. And across all four of these celebrated venues, that work is supported by Addvance IT.

Launched in 2014, Addvance IT (AIT) is a specialist hospitality and retail EPOS services provider. With clients across the UK and Ireland, Western Europe and as far afield as Dubai, the company has made a name for itself in the sports stadia and events sector, but also provides solutions for restaurants and catering services within education, business and industry.

AIT has developed its own integrated hospitality management platform, Kappture, which provides a cloud-based modular approach to delivering solutions for fixed and mobile EPOS, kiosks, self-checkout, kitchen management, stock management, pre-ordering and a range of payment integrations to support features like allowances, loyalty schemes and promotions.

AIT supplies Kappture in conjunction with AURES hardware, which it has been supplying since it launched.

In total, Kappture is installed on more than 5,000 EPOS terminals.

Kappture Benefits

AIT’s Commercial Director Andrew Motley explained how Kappture’s key strengths were in its flexibility and ease of use. “Kappture provides hospitality operations of all sizes with everything they need, all in one place, stripped of any complexity,” he said.

“As a cloud-based solution, it is quick to set up and the simple, user-friendly interface means training is straightforward and pain free. It is highly reliable, with low support and maintenance requirements and zero downtime, meaning you can run it around the clock for 365 days a year.

“In terms of functionality, Kappture really does cover all the bases for the modern hospitality business. It provides a complete PoS suite that will run on Windows or Android, fixed and mobile devices. It includes special kiosk solutions such as self-checkout, pre-order and payment, and similarly lets companies create their own brand Click & Collect / pre-order mobile apps that sync automatically with the system.

“It includes EFT solutions through 12 different payment providers, including online payment options with integrated eCommerce, plus tools for rewards, loyalty, promotions and customer feedback. And then you have all of your stock management, cash management and kitchen management modules, all accessible on the same screen, all providing data in real time for maximum visibility.”

Kappture boasts an average transaction time of just five seconds, and in the last 12 months has processed over 20 million payments across more than 40 sporting and event venues. In 2019, it predicts that number to double to more than 40million transactions. Outside the stadia sector, it counts the likes of Elior, Thomas Franks, the Genuine Dining Company, Baxter Storey and the Compass Group amongst its clients.

Overall, customers praise Kappture for its simplicity, speed and reliability. The Jockey Club, which uses Kappture at some of the world’s most iconic racing festivals including the Grand National at Aintree, the Cheltenham Festival, the Epsom Derby and the Guineas Festival at Newmarket, said it was “impressed with the ease of use, speed of deployment, management information and the minimal system support required after go-live.”

The Rugby Football Union (RFU), the sport’s governing body which runs Twickenham and hosted the Rugby World Cup in 2015, said: “For the first time we have an innovative cloud-based tablet EPOS solution that delivers leading edge technology in a fully PCI compliant environment and further enhances the fan experience.”

Supported by AURES

To complement its award-winning Kappture platform, AIT has trusted AURES EPOS hardware since the very beginning.

“In a few cases, for example at Twickenham, Twickenham Stoop (Harlequins) and Croke Park rugby grounds, we have been able to run Kappture on AURES equipment that clients were already using,” said Andrew. “This is always a bonus as we know there is a robust infrastructure already in place that we can trust, making our job a lot easier.

“In the majority of cases, however, we will recommend clients purchase AURES terminals and peripheral hardware to go with Kappture. Like our software, AURES equipment is quick and easy to deploy and it creates very low on-going maintenance demands, which are backed up anyway by a three-year manufacturer’s warranty. We also always get great service from AURES, whether it is delivering hardware on time or responding to maintenance tickets.

“We often recommend the AURES Nino II to clients because the compact, lightweight design making it very flexible and easy to move around the site. This means you can quickly set up a traditional PoS in all sorts of different places and it makes it very handy for rentals.

“In terms of feedback we get from our clients about AURES hardware, they comment on the same sort of things – reliability, low maintenance, how robust it is. Quite a few also mention how convenient the printer is to use in liquid environments, which is an important consideration when a lot of our end users are running the equipment in bars.”

With a 14” PCAP edgeless touchscreen and weighing just 3.7kg, the NINO II is no bigger than a small desktop monitor and therefore easy to relocate wherever required. It also benefits from a fully adjustable design, with a flexible swing arm attaching the screen to the die-cast aluminium base, which can be fixed in any viewing position from flat horizontal to 90° vertical.

Energy efficient, robust and mobile, the NINO II is a popular choice in bars and restaurants where space is at a premium, as well as with retail and hospitality operators looking for EPOS solutions for pop-up and mobile outlets.
